An original design by Jens Quistgaard from 1955, this pitcher features elegant curves and vivid hues on glossy enameled carbon steel—signature black rim included. And that wrapped handle? It’s retro at its finest. This was one of the top styles our community asked us to reissue. Now, after more than 50 years out of production, it’s back with a slightly larger body than the original.

Back to the future
I grew up with a flame colored version of this pitcher in the 1960s (it was our family milk pitcher, on the table at every dinner) and I am thrilled to have a recreation of this stylish, useful item on my table over 50 years later. It is sturdy, beautiful, and goes with a large variety of styles.

Dansk Still Makes Good Products
When I got married 50 years ago, I was given this model water pitcher. Unfortunately, it got dropped and chips appeared on both the outside and inside. When I saw that this model was still available, I immediately bought it from Food52. Dansk is still making the same high quality, although today's color choices are greater than those of 50 years ago.

Dansk Pitcher and other products
I am glad that I got the pitcher. For 50+ years I have been buying Dansk and I love the red pitcher. I have all the casseroles in red and they are in excellent condition. I have the salad bowls (probably 6+) of them. I have cheese boards, etc. 20 years ago I bought sets of white dishes enough for 60 and then I purchased 40 more dinner plates at the Dansk stores. I got sets of nice stainless steel cutlery. For holidays I could set my table for about 40 family members.
Why do you charge so much for Dansk Products? It has never been cheap because it is a good quality product but it has never cost as much as you charge compared to similar products.
