Exellent pan lid
Like the product very much. Appearance is outstanding i have never imagined that the lid can be in vertical position. But, to my surprise and satisfaction, it can hold the vertical position as well as it is sturdy and a perfect match to my pan which i bought some time ago and which was sold without the lid. Looking into buying a Vermicular Japanese Cast-Iron Frying Pan from your store!

Perfect product
Love this lid and the fact it holds itself up and I dont have to use up counter space (Which I have very little of) to set the lid off to the side of the pan.

great product
this is now my ""go to"" pan for everything from filet mignon to blistered green beans. it is amazingly light, versatile, and durable. cleans up well. I don't know why I put it back in the drawer every night--I should just leave it out on the range!

I love the wooden handle
I love the wooden handle and my husband wants to only use cast iron so I wanted to give this pan a try. The selling points for me were lightweight and the handle.

Not Your Mother's Cast Iron Pan
While this pan is pretty, I would not have purchased it if I hadn't used it at a friend's home. I have many years of cast iron and carbon steel cooking experience and felt I had all the pans I needed. Yet this pan is a bit magical. So light, so well balanced, so versatile, so easy to clean, I felt I had to have it. It's been a great addition to my collection and I find myself reaching for it first. The one trade-off is the lack of oven use due to the wooden handle. For this reason, it can't be the only cast iron you own, but it will become a favorite.

Disappointed
The pan is probably a wonderful thing for a real foodie to have, but calling it lightweight . . maybe not. It looks like a brilliant addition to a serious cooks kitchen but I have arthritis in my hands and found it quite heavy to lift -- so I've had to return it.

Lightweight Cast Iron Pan
Everything about this pan is as advertised. . . evidence of stylish Japanese craftsmanship, lightweight enamel-coated cast iron, and a functional lid that rests upright on its own handle. I own a number of high end pots, pans, and skillets and I wanted to give the Vermicular pan a try before considering their intriguing, but pricey, induction pot. The deep version of this pan allows for flexibility in cooking methods from frying to braising. It heats rapidly compared to regular cast iron and, unlike carbon steel which has similar properties, you do not have to worry about destroying the non-stick surface when adding tomatoes, lemons, and other acidic foods. The surface sears well and is relatively non-stick if one remembers to follow the steps of pre-heating for a few seconds, then adding oil until it smokes, and turning down the heat until the smoke dissipates before adding food. The rating of 3 out of 5 stars reflects some buyer's remorse. Despite being an excellent product that ticks a number of boxes on desirable features, at the end of the day the surface coating is not my favorite. Water does evaporate quickly, but it just is not THAT much of a difference in performance.
