There's that famous scene in The Lady and the Tramp, the one at the Italian restaurant: The movie's heroes share a plate of spaghetti and meatballs while the chef warbles away in the background. The pups follow what turns out to be the same noodle to its origin—the other pup's nose. Smack!

This is what happens when you make the Tuscan dish spaghetti all'ubriaco—that is, when you cook spaghetti in red wine (I'll let you decide which ingredient is Lady and which is the tramp).

Just a few simple ingredients that you likely already have on hand—spaghetti, red wine, walnuts, cheese, and parsley—make for a dinner that, while not difficult, will shake your spaghetti routine right out from under you. And follow this good tip from KatieQ: Don't boil a huge pot of water for this, since you want a relatively small amount of liquid. More wine and less water will make for a more intense concentration of flavor, which means sweeter, more interesting noodles.
