Welcome to Bookmarked, a newsletter where I share my current cookbook obsessions, culinary deep-dives, and everything I’m savoring—on the page and on the plate. First up is my end of summer roundup.
It’s late summer, which means my fridge is 70% stone fruit and zucchini, and I’ve been cooking like there’s no tomorrow. Between worknight events, dinner parties, and apartment cafes, I’ve been completely consumed by recipes, and by cookbooks.

1. The Wishbone Kitchen Cookbook By Meredith Hayden

This book is New England summers captured in food. Growing up in Massachusetts and off the coasts of Nantucket & Martha’s Vineyard, this book reconnects me to childhood summers on the beach. I really appreciate Meredith’s approach to cooking, simple but technical. Every recipe of hers is generally easy to follow, but also provides educational elements.

2. I’ll Have What Cheese Having By Anne-Marie Pietersma
This is the most FUN cookbook I’ve ever read, truly. Nothing gets my attention like a cheeseboard, let alone a romantic comedy, too. Her recipes combine an expert cheese pairing to accompany a well loved classic romantic comedy. Her recipes not only show her cheesemonger knowledge, but also her unbeatable sense of humor.

3. By Heart By Hailee Catalano

Hailee is one of the sweetest chefs I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, and her recipes reflect that as well. Her rich culinary background mixed with her bright personality and huge heart, curated incredibly well-developed recipes. I learned the majority of my cooking skills through my parents and family so I always love reading cookbooks that pull from the same inspirations.
4. What Can I Bring? By Casey Elsass

If you don’t already know me, I love to host. Whether it’s a small family gathering, casual hang with friends, or an upscale dinner party, I’m the gal to call! Casey’s cookbook is written for not only hosts, but for guests specifically. He takes us through the art of “Being Your Guest Self” which in other words means being a great guest. His recipes are super approachable, fun, and most importantly, delicious!
5. Justine Cooks By Justine Dorian

If you haven’t already heard of Justine then let this be your sign to obsess over her as much as I have. As a fellow (former) Brooklyn gal, I’ve admired her ability to create amazing, easy and elevated dishes in her charming apartment kitchen. Her accessible and casual approach to cooking is what home-cheffing is all about.
