Law Roach has had an epic New York Fashion Week, but we really would expect no less from the Image Architect. After announcing his shocking retirement two years ago (and then promptly unretiring), he has been extremely busy this past year—becoming a new judge on the latest season of Project Runway, launching an online learning platform for stylists called School of Style, and he revealed to Us Weekly this week that he is back to styling full-time. With a roster of clients that includes Zendaya, Ariana Grande (whom he walked the red carpet with for her triumphant return to the VMAs earlier this month and, yes, he will be styling her for the Wicked For Good press tour), Jodie Turner-Smith, Jesse Williams, and Anya Taylor-Joy, it is no wonder he “just couldn’t keep myself away.”

In addition to unveiling a 50-piece collection from his personal archive at What Goes Around Comes Around in SoHo at NYFW that includes archival Chanel, Dior, and Tom Ford-era Gucci pieces. He also partnered with skincare brand La Roche-Posay for their 50th anniversary in a tongue-in-cheek video that makes fun of their similar, but often mispronounced, names.

And on top of all that, Roach teamed up again with his favorite hotel in NYC, The Dominick Hotel in SoHo. “The team makes me feel so welcome. Every time I walk into The Dominick, they greet me with a warm ‘Welcome Home,’" he told Food52 this week. The partnership includes a luxury package for guests featuring his personal essentials—signed copies of his book How to Build a Fashion Icon, Black Diamond caviar, and La Roche-Posay skincare.

So how does such a busy man survive NYFW, and specifically what are the foods that fuel him during this chaotic but glamorous time? Well, it starts with caviar and Cheddar & Sour Cream Ruffles. “I am always a fan of mixing high and low—and caviar and ruffles is my favorite combo,” he told Food52. He is also a fan of Doritos (as seen in this video), but NYFW calls for something a bit more, AKA a chip that can complement caviar…and couture.

He also loves a relaxing bath at The Dominick. “Waking up to the view from the floor-to-ceiling windows and Egyptian cotton sheets. I also love taking a bath in their gorgeous tub,” he said.

But eventually, he has to leave his hotel room and the Ruffles. As for a go-to dish or restaurant, Roach says, “Depends on the day—recently I have been loving Crane Club, located in West Chelsea.”

The newly opened fine-dining eatery by Tao Group Hospitality had a star-studded party three weeks ago, setting the tone for this lavish, larger-than-life venue. With acclaimed chef Melissa Rodriguez at the helm, it is the next must-have reservation.

But if he doesn’t have time for a sit-down meal, Roach says he loves the smoked salmon from Solovey Kitchen. He even made a TikTok video of himself enjoying the massive fish as a little snack while styling a Vogue cover in July. Doritos, smoked salmon, Ruffles: these are the snacks of a fashion genius!
