For many aspiring chefs, it’s easy to imagine a world-class chef standing beside you as you try out one of their recipes—hopefully cheering you on, but maybe also watching with a pressure-filled eye. That’s essentially the premise of the book and hit film Julie & Julia, where Julie Powell imagines Julia Child holding her hand (though that would make it harder to cook) as she works her way through every recipe in Mastering the Art of French Cooking.
But what if you could actually step into the kitchens of some of the top chefs in the world and get a hands-on lesson in how they make their masterful dishes? Well, now you can—and in none other than Las Vegas. You can now have interactive culinary experiences at The Bedford by Martha Stewart, Gordon Ramsay Steak, and Nobu at Paris Las Vegas.
Though Martha Stewart, Gordon Ramsay, and Nobu Matsuhisa will not be teaching the classes themselves (though you never know, they could show up), each one-hour session will help you master one of their signature dishes, no matter your skill level. Here is a more detailed—and mouth-watering—look at the offerings.
Make Martha’s Famous Pierogies
The Bedford by Martha Stewart is meant to feel and look like you’re inside her perfectly decorated Bedford, New York home—where her shows Bakeaway Camp and Martha Knows Best were filmed. (Projected windows even show the snow falling outside, making you almost forget you are in the middle of a casino on the strip.)

During the class, the Executive Chef of The Bedford will walk you through the step-by-step process of making Big Martha’s Pierogies. The pierogies are one of the restaurant’s signature dishes and are particularly special because the recipe was originally developed by Martha’s mother, known as Big Martha. Another stand-out item on the menu? Martha's Smashed Baked Potato—which, if you opt for Golden Osetra caviar, crème fraîche, and the 4-ounce portion, can run you up to $266.95 (remember, this is Vegas).

In addition to learning the recipe and getting to eat your pierogi, the class includes an embroidered apron. Plus, participants are invited to enjoy a 4 p.m. dinner reservation inside the restaurant’s Brown Room, which includes two complimentary glasses of Champagne and classic Caviar service.
Priced at $195.99 per person, the classes are offered on Thursdays at 2:30 p.m. and can be booked via OpenTable.
Learn to Cook Steak Like Gordon Ramsay
Though Gordon Ramsay’s kitchen tactics can be a bit intense, this man has changed the way we think about meat. While Ramsay himself won’t be yelling over your shoulder in the class, you will get to work with the Executive Chef of Gordon Ramsay Steak and learn the art of making the perfect steak.

Roll Sushi Like a Pro at Nobu
The sushi bar at Nobu almost seems like a sacred place, but what if you could go behind the counter? Well, now you can. Under the guidance of the expert chefs at Nobu restaurant at Paris Las Vegas, this one-hour experience at the sushi bar teaches guests how to create their own nigiri and a sushi roll.

Priced at $195.99 per person, classes are offered on Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. Guests have the option to enhance this culinary experience with an optional sake or Japanese whisky flight, thoughtfully curated to complement the sushi creations. The master class can be booked via OpenTable.
